National FFA Convention Tips and Tricks

Well, convention is THIS WEEK and after Saturday's article about Prep for Nationals!, I thought it would be only fitting to talk about some tips and tricks that I've learned from fellow FFA members and and from my convention experience from last year!

1- For those competing, be PROUD of yourself! Whatever the placing is! You had to qualify to get to Nationals, you deserve to be here! Your hard work is what earned you a spot in whatever CDE, LDE, Proficiency, Agriscience, Chapter Award you are competing for! Don't put too much stock into the number!

2-Talk to others! Even if talking to strangers is outside of your comfort zone, and will only do it once, talk to others at National Convention! You will meet someone there that can become one of your best friends, or someone that you'll talk to for years!

3- Take a notebook and pen! Some of the National Officers' retiring addresses will have something inside it that makes you think and you're going to want to have it down! Or even during workshops or anything, you'll want it at some point during your convention experience!

4- Live your convention to the fullest! Be brave! Walk up to that other chapter! Talk to those you're in line with! Meet new people! It's so worth it!
